People tend to say that things get better with age, and The Maine’s newest single is no exception to that rule. The Arizona five-piece released their newest single, “Sticky,” last week, a preview of what’s to come in the future. “Sticky” is a quintessential song by a band called The Maine. Combining Tom Petty-esque guitar solos, feel-good lyrics, and a wonderful, warm-weather vibe. The lyrics showcase how being in love is quite literally the best feeling there is.
The Maine, hailing from Tempe, Arizona, became friends through their local music scene and high schools and decided to form their own group in 2007. Over the last 14 years, the band have amassed a large, loyal following and did so almost entirely on their own. With the help of the fans, aptly named the 8123Fam, which is named after the address of the warehouse they hung out at in the early days, the band has operated completely independent from any labels. Their newest release will be no different.
Sticky, which is going to be your summer-time anthem, is the debut single from the band’s newest album. The album, which is the band’s eighth release, is called “XOXO: From Love and Anxiety In Real Time,” will be released where music is available on July 9th.
